It all started in 2010 thanks to a request from a local cycling club in Yecla, Murcia (Spain): they needed equipment for riding and racing.
Our proposal turned out to be attractive, 150 kits that took the area by storm and can still be seen as an indelible memory of how Gobik was born.
THE CUSTOM WEAR COMPANY
The first facilities are consolidated in Yecla (Spain) for the production and manufacture of our own designs.
The brand is based on the concept of 'custom clothing', as a sign of identity with a very marked process that still distinguishes us in the sector. For a long time, the claim 'The Custom Wear Company' will accompany us on this path.
THE FIRST COLLECTION
The knowledge of the fabrics, the performance and the first hand contact with the users of custom clothing, open the door to the first Gobik collection that also begins its online sale. Unibike in Madrid, a now defunct fair, will be our springboard to make our proposal known throughout Spain.
In sporting terms, Gobik fulfills the dream of dressing the leader of the 2016 Vuelta a la Comunidad Valenciana in yellow. It will be the first milestone of our sports sponsorship strategy.
MTB WORLD CUP
An intense year, which includes our first season in the MTB World Cup with the Primaflor Mondraker team and its greatest exponent of the moment: Olympic medalist Carlos Coloma.
We discover the magic of the island of Mallorca and of sharing a cycling event with 8,000 participants in the Mallorca312.
Our online sales strategy is completed with the figure of teamstores: customized stores for clubs, events or teams with an operating model of advance purchases.
EUROPE AS A TARGET
We attended for the first time as exhibitors at one of the reference events of the European cycling industry: Eurobike. There we showed what would be the new winter collection for 2019.
In Christmas 2018, we tried to 'shelter the dreams of the little ones' with our solidarity campaign #SavingDreams, with the help of Save The Children and with the help of sports ambassadors and friends of Gobik: Alberto Contador, Julien Absalon, Carlos Coloma, Santi Millán, Ismael Ventura, Caro Ferrer, Rad Monika, J. Antonio Hermida, Aleix Espargaró, Javier Benítez, Malena Nowotarska...
The year couldn't start better for Gobik: Alberto Contador and Julien Absalon join our project as sports ambassadors of the brand. Thus, Tour, Giro, Vuelta, Olympic medals, World and European Championships enrich our brand.
We expand our participation in the MTB World Cup. In addition to Primaflor Mondraker, we also dress the teams BH Templo Cafés, Absolute Absalon and Brujula Bike Racing Team. We also start our route on the road with Caja Rural-Seguros RGA Team and Kometa Cycling Team.
In 2020 we witnessed one of the most delicate moments with the appearance of COVID-19. During the pandemic, we put all the technical and human effort available for the selfless manufacture of sanitary masks and gowns. The commitment led to the birth of our own brand of reusable masks Maask.eu.
We created the Heroes limited edition to pay tribute to this universe of healthcare professionals who literally gave their all during the worst moments of the pandemic. 100% of the proceeds went to support the assistance work of the Spanish Red Cross.
FIRST TOUR WITH UAE
Gobik, hand in hand with Tadej Pogačar and UAE Team Emirates achieves its first Tour de France on Sunday, July 18, 2021. A date that remains forever marked in our memory.
Without leaving our city, Yecla, we started the construction of the new corporate offices and production facilities, environmentally efficient, in an area exceeding 15,000 m2.
Juan Antonio Flecha becomes a sports ambassador for the brand. Professional cyclist from 2000 to 2013, former iBanesto, Fassa Bortolo, Rabobank, Sky and Vacansoleil. Commentator for Eurosport on the Giro d'Italia, Tour de France and Vuelta a España.
We started the year by announcing the next step in our commitment to women's cycling at the highest level: we became the technical sponsor of 2 of the best World Tour teams in the women's category: UAE Team ADQ and FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope.
Our sports sponsorship strategy takes us to the top of Italy, the cradle of our sport. We signed the textile collections of the Giro Donne, Nove Colli and Dolomiti Super Bike events. A real luxury.
