When Max Richeze landed in Europe twenty years ago, little or nothing could have imagined how long and successful his cycling career would be. Ahead of him lay two decades of cycling at the highest level, as one of the most highly rated sprinters in the world, an artist in the difficult job of finding a place for him and launching his team. sprinter headline.
Max Richeze is part of a 100% cycling family, which is unusual in Argentina, a country that has a great love for the sport of cycling. Curiously, he didn't start riding regularly until he was thirteen years old, an age that seems late, but which is the main reason for his hunger for cycling until so long afterwards.
Now 39 years old, 16 of them as a professional, the cyclist of the UAE Team Emirates looks back fondly on all that he has achieved in the hope that he will be an example for the young riders who stand out in his country. Max is now rushing through his final months as a professional alongside Tadej Pogacar, whom he describes as "one of those talents that comes along every fifty years".
In the second installment of Extended Play by Gobik we travel to the history of Max and we do it with a luxury companion, Mario Sábato, one of the most recognizable cycling voices in Latin America.
