Marta Cavalli, from Cremona, 24 springs, 53 kilos and sixty seven meters, is undoubtedly one of the most interesting cyclists so far this season. She has been seen in Spain lately, she has competed in the Vuelta a Burgos and finished fourth in the historic inaugural edition of the Itzulia Women.
Integrated in the FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscopehas achieved a double that was difficult to achieve in just a few days: Amstel Gold Race and Flecha Valona, also being a protagonist in the Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
That's all very well, numbers and results, but who is Marta Cavalli?
"A shy 24-year-old Italian cyclist who loves her job" she begins by telling us.
And it's because cycling culture comes from her roots: "It's a family passion. My grandfather managed a small team for a long time and my father was a cyclist. He competed for many years, never as a professional, but enough for me to grow up with bicycles at home.
A moment, a moment to fall in love with cycling: "If I had to choose one, it would be the Giro d'Italia, so many afternoons in front of the television, watching the results of each stage. I especially like the sprint finishes".
On the crest of women's cycling
A member of the powerful French team, sponsored by a historic patron of the sport, the French Lotto, Marta savors the great moment of women's cycling and all the improvements that are being experienced. These are years of great changes," she explains, "and I'm enjoying them first hand. I feel privileged and proud to be part of this world. Many changes have been made and new ones are yet to come".

For the year ahead she has her goals set, but this does not detract from what has already been achieved: "It's been a great yearIt's been a great year, with two great victories in my best form ever, but it's not over yet because new challenges are coming, the Giro is coming, the Tour is coming and it's not possible to relax.
This year Marta will be at the historic inaugural edition of the Tour de France, of which she assures that "it's a great project, we are talking about the best race in the world, We all know that, and it's very nice to think that I can race it. We have seen some of the stages and they look very good".
In fact, she will be part of one of the strongest French teams, in that respect she says that "I feel very good here, like at home. There is a great involvement from everyone, both from the teammates and from each member of the staff. We have the best possible support.
Among other players, Marta Cavalli has Gobik: "I got to know the material at the first training camp. Stephen -the team's manager- introduced us to people from the brand and we found them to be serious and committed to the product. The clothes fit well and we noticed that they keep improving".
For the future, he is hoping for a victory in his fetish race, the Giro d'Italia, although "I dream of winning the Liège-Bastogne-Liège ".one day.
