Meet Marisa Cycling, a Costa Rican cycling story.

One of the goals we have at Gobik is to tell stories through our garments, and today we come to discover one that, although we are a little far away, specifically in Costa Rica, we feel very close. Marisa Cycling is a project to which Gobik has had the good fortune to put skin, designing two custom jerseys that exude energy and joy, but surely our protagonists tell us that much better.

María and Isa, fashion designer and chef respectively, began their passion for cycling during the pandemic and say it was something that changed their lives. So much so, that what started as a written and personal blog, has ended up becoming a community of cyclists, Marisa Cycling.

Residents and natives of Costa Rica, Maria and Isa aim to show the corners of their country on their bikes, transmitting their passion and motivation for this sport, doing it with a very special and, above all, comfortable skin, which was really the reason why our two protagonists met Gobik.

When designing their two jerseys, María and Isa were very clear that they wanted it to transmit joy, friendship, adventure, support, companionship, courage, tears and laughter, that is, everything that Marisa Cycling represents. In addition, they gave total freedom to the entire Gobik design team, obtaining as a result two options that, so much within them, that they ended up not discarding any of the two and adopting both as a sign of identity.

These two jerseys now accompany the entire Costa Rican community in their weekly outings, and of course, we could not pass the opportunity to investigate those routes that anyone visiting this incredible country has to do. Maria and Isa agree on one: "I think one of our favorite favorite routesis in the province of Cartago between the Turrialba and Irazú volcanoes, by mountain bike. The views are beautiful, although sometimes the fog consumes the route erasing the views, then the ride becomes even more magical." In addition, they also recommend two places to celebrate and savor, "as for where to go after a ride we have two favorites; BulaliBulali, delicious breakfasts after a fondo. Cafeteria La Mancha: delicious specialty coffee in the center of the city."

With this, it is very difficult for us to suppress the desire to join Marisa Cycling and get to know, on the bike, the places, customs and Costa Rican culture, and if Maria and Isa agree on something is that the bike is the best way to travel around their country.
