Vuelta a Burgos diary: And Remco Evenepoel dressed in Gobik

A first reflection of the third stage in Burgos: "Finally the sporting part has taken the limelight leaving the sanitary in the background".

The image that many wanted to see in Burgos and the return of competitive cycling is already there: Remco Evenepoel is the leader of the race, two days from the finish, there in purple, wearing a mask, protocol obliges, in the midst of the green beauty of Picón Blanco, that eyebrow of the mountain range that separates Castilla from Cantabria.

A stark stage, full of heat, where the stars were staying to the sound of a killer rhythm that separates the grain from the chaff. The first high finish after the confinement did not disappoint.

"A great day, mythical, through a very beautiful area, which went from the Loras, a farm petrolIt was a great day, mythical, through a very beautiful area, going from the Loras, a terrestrial exploitation in the middle of Spain that I'm sure very few people know, to the Picón Blanco, the first high finish. The route was beautiful, cycling asphalt, very rough, narrow roads..." says Gino Dona enthusiastically from the race.

A stage that was complicated by the heat and the wind: "Think that up there it blew over ninety kilometers per hour, which was detrimental to the podium, in the end the background of the podium was the landscape itself".

And here Remco Evenepoel took the lead: "The little guy gave the first scare on the first day and now the general comment of the people before arriving was fulfilled: we are facing one of the most important cyclists that can be given, then we'll see. He has shown something that at the age of twenty is within the reach of very few people".

A privilege that has dressed GobikTo be in professional cycling and enjoy this moment puts us in the spotlight and makes us part of cycling history. For Remco Evenepoel to win a stage like this and to wear our jersey on the podium is great news for Gobik. It's a pride to be in that picture with this cyclist and at this moment. We're talking about an image that will probably go around the world."

Remco Evenepoel will take the start of the fourth stage, in Gumiel de Izán, not far from Aranda de Duero, from the purple leader's box, removing that garment is not going to be easy.
