Gobik wore green in the Tour de Romandie

Among the great novelties of Gobik in top cycling, dressing the leaders of the Tour de Romandie was undoubtedly a major milestone. It was to enter the first World Tour outside Spain. The Tour de Romandie 2022 ended up in the hands of Russian Alexander Vlasov, one of the best cyclists since the beginning of the year, competitive wherever he put on a bib and irresistible on the final day, a time trial that he won with solvency. It should be noted that Vlasov had already won in February the Volta the Comunitat Valenciana, whose jersey yellow is also stamped with the mark of Gobik.

Juan Ayuso, in UAE Team Emirates, was the best Spanish cyclist, finishing fourth and the best young rider of the race that recovered the jersey green on the occasion of its 75th anniversary. Vlasov joins a list of winners that includes the likes of Gino Bartali, Eddy Merckx, Felice Gimondi, Joop Zoetemelk and Bernard Hinault, plus the Helvetic myths of the fifties, Kubler and Koblet.

"Green was our first color for the race leader from 1948 to 2001. Since then the leader has worn yellow, but we wanted to bring it back for this edition," says race director Richard Charssot.
