INSIDE GOBIK | Dani, the rhythm of production

INSIDE GOBIK | Dani, el ritmo de la producción

If we had to describe Dani in a single word, it would probably be consistency. Because for a company like Gobik to run like clockwork, you need someone who knows how to keep a steady hand at the heart of production. That someone is Daniel Mora, although everyone calls him Dani, a completely ordinary guy, passionate about sport, who found at Gobik not just a job, but a personal challenge.

From trail to the plant

Dani lives sport as an essential part of his daily life. "I really enjoy trail running, and since 2020 I’ve also been riding mountain bikes," he tells us. Although he also plays padel, he admits that lately he just doesn’t have time for everything. Even so, he usually rides a couple of times a week and runs three days a week: “I run more than I ride because it takes less time, and with a small child, that makes a difference.” For him, the bike means freedom, but also switching off. His favorite terrain is the mountains, and that already says a lot about his character: effort, self-improvement, and connection with the environment.

His arrival at Gobik was not the result of sport, but of friendship, as Dani himself tells us: "I’ve known Alberto and José Ramón since I was a child; we went to school together," he recalls. It was during the San Isidro festivities, in the typical conversation between friends, when José Ramón told him about the project they were starting. “We need someone for production,” he said. And Dani, who came from another company that had closed because of the crisis, saw in Gobik an opportunity to start something different. “It was a challenge. If it worked out, great. And if not, at least we would have tried.” Now, almost 11 years later, we can say it worked out very well.

The engine of production

Dani is currently the plant manager, the one who organizes production together with his colleagues Esther, María, and José Damián. "We plan orders 45 and 30 days out. We keep pushing what’s closest and adapting to the workload of each section." His day-to-day is a mix of coordination, anticipation, and a great deal of problem-solving.

The biggest challenge, he tells us, is not only the urgent orders from WorldTour teams or impossible deadlines, but keeping the whole team motivated. Because at Gobik, production is not just about manufacturing, it is about taking care of the people who make it possible for every jersey to reach its destination.

11 years of nonconformity, Dani’s key trait, and Gobik’s

Dani has been at Gobik for almost 11 years, and he still has the same enthusiasm as on day one. “It’s a company unlike anything I had experienced before. Here, work flows smoothly, in a good atmosphere, knowing what we want to do and how we want to do it. That is highly motivating.”
If he had to describe Gobik in one word, he does not hesitate: nonconformity. “It’s what they instill in us and what keeps us improving every day.”
