Nonconformity on two wheels
If we had to describe Sebas in a single word, it would be nonconformity. A term that not only defines his way of working at Gobik, but also his philosophy of life. Born in Mallorca and a cyclist at heart, his passion for this sport runs in the family, as his grandfather raced and so did his father, so Sebas grew up not only in a cycling environment, but also surrounded by cyclists. "I’m passionate about cycling, the kind who watches every race, every hour they show on TV," he tells us. Whether on the road, mountain bike, or track (the discipline where he started), his love for it is almost an obsession… but the good kind.
From the track to commercial management
Sebas’s path to Gobik was not direct, but it was logical. In other words, if we look back, we understand that it was almost impossible for these two paths not to cross sooner or later. He started as a freelance professional in the commercial side of cycling, first with another brand, and his entry into the sector was almost accidental: "I started a club with my father and we needed kits. After the experience I thought: 'I want to be part of this process, and improve it'". And that’s what happened. With his technical knowledge, commercial instinct, and passion for the product, he eventually came into contact with Gobik. "When Gobik came to the forefront, I felt it belonged to me in some way: how they are, how they act, how they design… everything fit".
Today, Sebas is Gobik’s Country Manager in Spain, managing the commercial network and directly overseeing the Balearic market. His work is a balance between strategy and action: "From organizing visits and meetings to analyzing reports and seeking new business opportunities". His days are intense and, as he himself says, "there’s always something, there’s always movement," something that, obviously, he loves.
The challenge of keeping up the pace
Working at Gobik means moving fast, and Sebas knows that well. For him, the key is finding a balance: "You have to know when to stop, breathe, and remember that, although it’s a job, it’s also your passion". And in his case, it’s not just a phrase: "Gobik is part of me".
Cycling, switching off, and the perfect destination
Although his schedule is full, he always finds time to live out his passion for cycling where he likes it most, on the bike. "I ride less than I’d like, but as much as I can," he tells us. During the week he gets in an hour at midday, and on weekends he makes the most of it. Favorite destination? "Mallorca is brutal, but the Calpe, Villajoyosa, and Parcent area has won me over for road riding. And for mountain biking, Yecla is a paradise".
