From the very core and dual control rudder of GobikJosé Ramón Ortin and Alberto García, founders of the company, talk to us about this turbulent year 2020.
December 31, 2019.
No one could have imagined what we were going to find around the corner of the new year. We were entering happily and unaware into a 2020 that would separate us forever from too many human beings.
And it would temporarily take us away from friends and family, from fellow cyclists, customers, from our network of stores, from the road and events. And of course, most importantly, it would distance us from you.
We were bringing a big smile from 2019, our family. Gobik was growing to 100 employees and our desks were filled with big headlines and numbers that made us extremely proud of what we had accomplished.
But we're not talking about sales and business, we're talking about figures of support and solidarity, embodied, for example, in collaborations with Save The ChildrenThe Alberto Contador Foundation, the Pelayo Challenge, the RETT Syndrome Association and many more.
2020 has drawn a new vital map for all of us, where the really important thing, the north, has changed its position to a more accurate one. Now we see the priorities much clearer.
Our team showed us their selfless commitment to dedicate part of our facilities and our know-how to the manufacture of health protection equipment. Then came the jersey The Heroes solidarity campaign, which was followed by the design of Abikes, with the help of Alberto Contador and Ivan Basso...
And all this we tried to capture in that video that we launched weeks ago, "it was time to imagine".
And everything we imagined in Gobik was to be back, safe, but together with you.
You deserve to continue enjoying the sport, cycling, but more importantly, your loved ones, in a safe way. We know that there is still a long way ahead, a route never traveled before and where we must take some simple and inexcusable safety measures in our daily life: social distancing, hygiene, use of masks...
And this is where we understand that our nonconformism makes sense again.
