Life is altered in Colombia. As an invisible time use, this pandemic that grips our lives arose in AsiaIt passed through Europe and landed in America where it is wreaking havoc.
Caro Ferrer is anxiously witnessing the worst days of the pandemic in her beloved Colombia: "We are at the worst moment, like you were a couple of months ago, with hospitals bursting at the seams and ICUs collapsing. It is very sad everything that is happening and the latent poverty in Colombia does not help to improve the situation".
Colombia's unwavering faith in its cyclists
A situation that had a glimmer of hope just a few days ago, with that plane that left Bogota for Madrid loaded with Colombian cycling stars.who will carry the tricolor to the best possible scenarios.
"Pride of Colombia". or something like that, they baptized that flight: "It is that in Colombia we are like that, very patriotic, wherever we are we get a smile when they talk to us about our country, and we defend it with fervor. People have made the success of our cyclists their own, because we do not have a sport comparable to cycling, with so many stars in the best races, cyclists who win and give that image that our country needs, an image of quality and competitiveness, far removed from the one we had a few years ago. Now people know that you are Colombian and they talk to you about Nairoabout Rigo... and not Pablo Escobar".
That feeling of belonging is contagious: "Colombia is spectacular, friendly, helpful and extroverted. If you ask us for directions on the street, we'll go with you.
A cycling paradise by the name of Antioquia
This is how things stand, between a sad and Dantesque situation and hopes that are flying towards the future. Europe. Moments of uncertainty that Caro fights with her love for cycling, a spark that arose some time ago when she asked her parents to let her think about how to integrate cycling as a way of life and make the most of her renewed passion for cycling.
Every morning a couple of hours on the bike give him the clue and foresight where to go pulling, in turn leaves furrow between a community that exceeds 220,000 followers and check the benefits of a cycling site par excellence: Antioquia.
"From here it is Rigofrom here is Gaviriaalso Alvarito Hodegis my land, my place, I can't imagine myself anywhere else. Antioquia is altitude and mountain, land of brave people who look for more, who put passion in everything they do. I live at 2200 meters of altitude, when I take my bike out early we are at thirteen degrees, when I return the thermometer is stuck in the twenties, it is a luxury" he tells us with singular emotion.
The enormous route of Gobik in Latin America
"We think about cycling 24 hours a day, seven days a week," he adds. A passion that, at the moment, is going through one more turn of the screw, because if cycling was already important in the life of Caro and his family, now it will become a work issue: Caro Ferrer is the image, ambassador of. Gobik for Latin America.
She culminates a process that began with that two-year period she asked her family and friends to cultivate her networks and see where her love for cycling took her. "That started to grow. Over time I saw that brands were interested in what I was doing and with Camilo -her husband- we launched a first line of socks from Mexico that worked very well".
That was the germ of what is today Caro Ferrer Cycling Shopa proposal that would incorporate Gobik from the very first moment "to put the brand where it deserved, in terms of quality and image", he adds. The road travelled has been very useful, but the best is yet to come: "We are enthusiastic and happy, we are going to be the distributor of Gobik in Colombia and part of Latin America, a leap in which Strongman's support has been important".
The brand must compete with the top brands, with the big ones, in terms of quality and performance," he continues. That's what we want and that's why Gobik want us to manage the brand in our own territory, because we want to Gobik has a lot of run here, every image we share on Instagram of the brand shows us how much people appreciate its quality and finishes."
What words come up when we pronounce Gobik?
Caro asked a few days ago on her Instagram profile:"Quality, comfort and stylethat's what people told me when we posted a picture a few days ago. People appreciate more and more good textile, whether you are an upstart or an expert. A person starting out in cycling can't go for low quality garments, their health is at stake. A good garment allows for better performance and takes care of your private parts much better, in short it makes cycling a more pleasant experience".
A clean and clear imagethat's what Caro wants for his business, that's what he gets GobikIn the meantime, he hopes that 2020 will continue to bring him health, "something essential for everything else, let's never forget it".
