Gobik and the INEOS Grenadiers cycling team launch an evolution in cycling with the new Singularity 2.0 on the eve of the Tour de France. This high-tech garment revolutionizes the time trial suit more than ever and will give the British team an edge when racing the upcoming time trials in France.
The goal was to optimize performance at different speeds with varying wind orientations and create a suit that would maximize its ability to adapt to specific conditions within carrera. This painstaking effort has culminated in the development of the Singularity 2.0, a suit that redefines the boundaries of speed and efficiency.
The Singularity 2.0 places Gobik and INEOS Grenadiers at the pinnacle of innovation and excellence in cycling. A product of precision engineering and uncompromising performance, this time trial suit establishes INEOS Grenadiers as a benchmark in the time trial discipline.
Innovation and collaboration: Gobik and INEOS Grenadiers
Since signing the technical sponsorship agreement, Gobik and INEOS Grenadiers have worked together with surgical precision to optimize the aerodynamics and performance of specific time trial garments.
The Singularity 2.0 is the product of 30 prototypes developed throughout the season in collaboration with both INEOS Grenadiers and Gobik's technical teams, with the goal of having the final version ready for this year's Tour de France, where every second counts.
The development process has involved Gobik attending all testing sessions with INEOS Grenadiers and further refinement through weekly review meetings between the two technical teams. Each time trial suit has been custom-designed for each rider.
This project has been a true engineering feat, with a team of five Gobik experts dedicated exclusively to its development.
The time trial elite: INEOS Grenadiers time trial specialists.
With elite time trialists such as former world champion Filippo Ganna, national champion Joshua Tarling, Tobias Foss and Magnus Sheffield, INEOS Grenadiers is at the forefront of the specialty and prioritizes ongoing research and development to maintain
its position in this space.
Impact in competition
In the first time trial of the Giro d'Italia, four of the top five riders were INEOS Grenadiers wearing the earlier version of the suit, and in the second time trial, Filippo Ganna took victory in the latest version.
Thanks to the layering of various materials and evolution in design, there have been substantial improvements in the Singularity 2.0 compared to previous versions. Pattern adjustments and proven geometry ensure optimal placement of every seam and panel, guaranteeing complete customization for every rider.
Numerous tests at state-of-the-art facilities around the world have validated the effectiveness and improvements of Singularity 2.0. The improvements achieved, ranging from 2-5%, represent a significant advantage in time trials.
Scott Drawer, Performance Director of the INEOS Grenadiers team, said:
"The innovation process is what defines INEOS Grenadiers, so finding a partner who shares the same mindset is how we turn those ideas into reality.""Partnering with Gobik has been a natural fit. Using their experience and expertise in technical textiles has allowed us to create something unique that delivers results. True innovation happens when both parties see the challenge and combine their expertise to come up with something better. This only happens through regular and thorough communication, true collaboration and both teams striving for excellence."
Carlos Rodriguez (INEOS Grenadiers cyclist) said:
"Time trial is an art of science, and wind tunnel testing is key in the process of getting the best package for such tests. You can train all you want, but if you're not aerodynamic enough you're not going to be competitive."
