Childhood Cancer is one of the cruelest diseases that exist in society today, and for Gobik, this does not go unnoticed. For this reason, and as a testament to one of the values the brand embodies—solidarity—the entire company wanted to join an initiative that not only served to raise funds for research, which is what truly saves lives, but also to continue raising awareness among the entire population about this problem.
The headline of swapping the jersey for pajamas is not a metaphor, it is reality, because on February 15th, Childhood Cancer Day, Gobik carried out an initiative in collaboration with the AFACMUR association, which works within the oncology ward of the Murcia Hospital, performing work as commendable as it is necessary for all the boys and girls there, as well as for their families.
“The Pajama Challenge” literally consisted of taking off work clothes and putting on pajamas, so that on that day, February 15th, all Gobik employees came to work in pajamas. For each employee who joined this initiative, the company would donate €20 to the AFACMUR association. During the day, not only did all company employees take part in the challenge, but so did each and every visitor to the company, resulting in a donation of 16,720 euros, including contributions from every employee who joined the initiative, masks as a form of donation, a jersey for their raffle and the extra amount contributed by company employees on their own initiative, demonstrating even more solidarity and involvement in such a necessary fight to end this disease that takes the lives of so many boys and girls today.
The pride of being part of a company, a family, that breathes these values is even greater than any other business achievement, as it indicates the human quality that drives the Gobik family every day. Therefore, we give our eternal thanks to each and every person who has voluntarily taken part in this challenge, helping so many boys and girls in their daily lives.
