Bea tells us about her passion for tattoos and how it helps her to give perspective to her work. "It's not the same on the shoulder as it is on the leg. In that sense, I think this hobby helps me to understand anatomy and be able to apply it to my work, to perfect my designs," she explains.
Beatriz Martínez has been working for two and a half years in the design and patternmaking department at Gobik. She is from Caudete, Albacete, about fifteen kilometers from Yecla "In February I will have been there for three years. I was previously working in Alicante, but I saw the opportunity in Gobik to be part of this department and I jumped at it".
Taste and passion for design
I studied fine arts," she says. It was something that completed me and I specialized in design and silkscreen printing. I have always been good at handicrafts. I like graphic design, I did my degree, I trained for it, for printing and silkscreen printing. I see everything I learned reflected in the way I work on my clothes.
A passion that combines his passion for tattooing:
"I have a tattoo machine. I make sketches by hand and capture them on the skin, it is an almost mystical process, where ideas, tastes or experiences trace their way to eternity".
She is the first to wear them, some of them made by herself: "I have about twenty, with different themes. In the end, everything is related, when you design a tattoo you work on the anatomy, like when you design a jersey”.
Her work is focused on personalized tattoos for groups, where clients come looking for that "touch". Gobik"The brand's significant and recognizable proposal, also for his designs.
A process that continues in pattern making "with the verification of colors and finishes, because the demand at the level of tailoring is very high and, from design, we take care of every detail so that the final piece meets all customer expectations".
Growing in Gobik
There are "about twenty people in the Design Department, and we will soon be growing again, with the arrival of two new colleagues. When I arrived there were thirteen of us", and the fact is that "we not only customize garments for groupsets, we also create the graphic proposals for the different cycling events we sponsor around the world".
When he reflects on his beginnings at GobikShe admits to being impressed "I remember my first group meeting, I was impressed by the amount of work that the factory manages to handle every week".
To the Design and Pattern Department, orders come in countless forms, from a simple sketch to creating a design from scratch. A challenge that has made her grow in these almost three years, because in addition to developing her creative talent, she has learned to interpret the many ideas of the clients that come to her. However, she admits that "Gobik It has influenced me a lot on a personal level, I am developing in what I like, in my usual natural environment. In terms of work, I had to go through a period of adaptation, the new way of working was quite a challenge. Now I have gained that confidence that makes you better at whatever you set your mind to, and even my colleagues ask me for advice. I like that feeling of progress, which is nothing more than the result of constant learning".

Reggae songs for inspiration, when I design I want calm music.When I patrol, I concentrate more with Rock and louder music.

I'm not much of a series person, but if I watch them I want to be distracted without paying too much attention, like Big Bang Theory and Modern Family.
