Nonconformism on two wheels

If we had to describe Sebas with just one word, it would be nonconformism. A term that not only defines his way of working at Gobik, but also his philosophy of life. Born in Mallorca and a cyclist at heart, his passion for this sport runs in his family since his grandfather competed and his father did too, therefore, Sebas has grown up not only in a cycling environment, but also surrounded by them. "I'm a cycling enthusiast, one of those who watches all the races, all the hours that are given on TV," he tells us. Whether it's road, mountain bike or track (the discipline he started with), his hobby is almost an obsession... but a good one.

From the track to commercial management

Sebas' path to Gobik was not direct, but it was logical, that is, if we look back, we understand that it was almost impossible that these two paths did not end up coming together at one time or another. He started as a freelance in the commercial world of cycling, first with another brand and his entry into the sector was almost accidental: "I set up a club with my father and we needed equipment. After the experience I thought: 'I want to be part of this process, and improve it'". And so he did. With his technical knowledge, his commercial instinct and his passion for the product, he ended up coming into contact with Gobik. "When Gobik came to the fore, I felt like I belonged somehow: how they are, how they act, how they design... it all fit."

Today, Sebas is Gobik's Country Manager in Spain, managing the sales network and directly handling the Balearic Islands market. His job is a balance between strategy and action: "From organizing visits and meetings to analyzing reports and looking for new business opportunities". His days are intense and, as he says, "there's always something going on, there's always movement", which he obviously loves.

The challenge of keeping up

Working at Gobik means moving fast, and Sebas knows this well. For him, the key is to find a balance: "You have to know how to stop, breathe and remember that, although it's a job, it's also your passion". And in his case, it's not just a phrase: "Gobik is part of me".

Cycling, disconnection and the perfect destination

Although his schedule is full, he always finds time to live his passion for cycling where he likes it best, on his bike. "I ride less than I'd like to, but as much as I can," he says. On weekdays he takes an hour at noon and on weekends he makes the most of it. Favorite destination? "Mallorca is brutal, but I love the area of Calpe, Villajoyosa and Parcent for road. And for mountain biking, Yecla is a paradise".
