The luck of meeting on the road

At Gobik we firmly believe that what makes a company great is its human team, the people who make it up, and today we want to tell you the story of one of the most veteran members of our family, Pato.

Pato is Argentinean and had the courage to, at the age of 30, leave his home and family behind to embark on a new adventure in Spain. This was 17 years ago, and although it took 10 years for Pato and Gobik's paths to cross, today with just over 7 years in the company, he is one of the lucky ones who has seen the growth of a group that at that time consisted of just over 30 people, and which has now grown to over 200.

This is precisely one of the values that our protagonist tries to instill in the new incorporations; the effort, work and sacrifice that so many people have made to make Gobik grow every day. But let's not go so fast.

Pato is one of the people who deal with the orders in the warehouse every day, that's how he started his time at Gobik and that's how he continues, putting his great experience and his good work for the benefit of all. He tells us how 7 years ago, there were 3 or 4 packages a day, nothing to do with the quantities that are handled today. So much so that when he joined the company, no one else was in charge of the warehouse, whereas now he is in charge of a team of 10 people. An evolution that is not the result of chance, and this is what Pato tells us, who greatly emphasizes the eagerness to improve that is lived and breathed within the company. A continuous attempt to improve in all aspects, from the training of the workers, to the equipment or the workplace, Gobik is always looking to go one step further in order to improve every day.

As it could not be otherwise, we had to ask him about his love for cycling, being this one of the tasks that he marks as pending for next year. And, as a good Argentinean, soccer has always been the king sport at home, but his son's love for cycling is what has encouraged Pato to undertake this beautiful hobby that is capable of uniting thousands and thousands of kilometers.
