If we had to describe Dani in one word, it would probably be consistency. Because for a company like Gobik to run like a Swiss watch, it takes someone who knows how to keep a steady pulse at the heart of production. That someone is Daniel Mora, although everyone calls him Dani, a completely normal guy, passionate about sport, who found in Gobik not only a job, but a personal challenge.
From the trail to the plant
Dani lives sport as an essential part of his daily life, "I really like trail running and since 2020 I also practice mountain biking", he tells us. Although he also plays paddle tennis, he admits that lately he doesn't have enough time in his life. Despite this, he usually rides his bike a couple of times a week and runs three days a week, "I run more than I cycle because it takes less time, and with a small child, that's noticeable". For him, cycling is freedom, but also disconnection. His favorite terrain is the mountains, and that says a lot about his character: effort, self-improvement and connection with the environment.
His arrival at Gobik was not the result of sport, but of a friendship, as Dani himself tells us: "I've known Alberto and José Ramón since I was a child, we used to go to school together", he recalls. It was during the San Isidro festivities, in the typical chat between friends, when José Ramón told him about the project they were starting. "We need someone for production," he told him. And Dani, who came from another company that had closed due to the crisis, saw Gobik as an opportunity to start something different. "It was a challenge. If it went well, great. And if it didn't, we would have tried it. Now, almost 11 years later, we can say that it went very well.
The engine of production
Dani is currently the plant manager, the one who organizes production together with his colleagues Esther, María, and José Damián. "We plan orders for 45 and 30 days. We push what is closest and adapt to the workload of each section." Their day-to-day work is a mix of coordination, anticipation and a lot of problem solving.
The big challenge, he tells us, is not just the rush orders from WorldTour teams or impossible dates, but keeping the whole team motivated. Because at Gobik, production is not just about manufacturing, it's about taking care of the people who make it possible for each jersey to reach its destination.
11 years of nonconformity, the key to Dani, and to Gobik
Dani has been with Gobik for almost 11 years, and still has the same enthusiasm as the first day. "It's a company unlike anything I've ever experienced. Here we work smoothly, with a good atmosphere, knowing what we want to do and how we want to do it. That's very motivating.
If he had to describe Gobik with one word, he doesn't hesitate: nonconformism. "That's what they instill in us and what makes us keep improving every day."
