Barcelona will make history again this summer with the celebration of the Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2026. An iconic outing that will serve to bring the most important race in the world to the streets of a city internationally recognized for its architecture, its culture and its ability to inspire everyone who walks through it.
On the occasion of this event, Movistar Team presents the special jersey with which it will compete in the Tour de France, a new skin that pays tribute to Barcelona and two of its most universal symbols: Antoni Gaudí and the Sagrada Familia.
The choice is not accidental. In the year in which the centenary of Gaudí's death is commemorated, the work of the Catalan architect continues to represent creativity, innovation and the search for excellence. Values that are also part of the DNA of the team with the most history in the international platoon.
The graphic elements of the jersey are inspired by the shapes, textures and geometries present in the Sagrada Familia, an icon recognized throughout the world and one of the great hallmarks of the Catalan capital. The result is a kit that connects sport, culture and territory in one of the most special editions of the Tour de France for Spanish cycling.
For Movistar Team, the only Spanish team in the UCI WorldTour, starting the Tour from Barcelona is a particularly significant moment. The jersey wants to reflect, precisely, that union between the city that hosts the Grand Départ and the team that represents Spanish cycling in the highest category.
"Our challenge was to convert an architectural icon into a graphic language that would work on a moving jersey. We worked with light, transparencies and geometries inspired by the Sagrada Familia to create a plot that reveals new nuances as the perspective changes. The result is a design that pays tribute to Barcelona without giving up the sporting identity and performance that competition demands." Alberto García, Co Founder Gobik
The new jersey will debut during the 2026 Tour de France, bringing the colors of Barcelona and the inspiration of Gaudí to the roads of the world's greatest race.
